One Month Old

--> Dear Clark,

You are one-month old!  You arrived sooner than expected since I was due to have you earlier this week.  You were not interested staying in my belly any longer than absolutely necessary.  You were born at 36 weeks and only weighed 4 pounds 3 ounces, but you are 100% healthy and that is all that matters!  For the first two weeks, you sleep nonstop and barely cried at all.  The third week you started stay awake for a little longer and cry a little.  Now, you are a regular newborn who screams when hungry or upset, but you are a very good baby and rarely get upset so life is very good in our house J  We had a check-up earlier this week and you now weigh 6 pounds 4 ounces!!  You are a great eater and have grown so much in the last four weeks.  You are still a very tiny little peanut but you have outgrown premie diapers and premie clothes.

You have an amazing big sister who is absolutely obsessed with you.  She wants to kiss, hug and cuddle with you all day long.  Sloane wants bunk beds so you can sleep in her room, although she keeps saying that you two are going to cuddle together in the same bed.  This morning I heard her whisper to you, “Hi Clark.  You are best little brother in the world.”  Get ready; she will be your overbearing protector in the years to come.

Our regular day goes like this:  Feed, watch your sister be crazy while I make her breakfast, go on a walk and Sloane plays at the park (you sleep in the stroller), feed, watch your sister be crazy while I make her lunch, nap, feed, run errands/hang out at home, feed, watch your sister be crazy after dinner, short nap, big nighttime bottle with daddy, then bedtime.  Thankfully you have been sleeping for 5-6 hours at night and only waking up once for a feeding around 3am.  Then we start our day again at 6am.  When I say, “watch your sister be crazy” it is usually because she is running around in circles, singing songs from Frozen.

I love you so much and can’t wait to see how much you grow over the next month!

XOXO,
Mommy

Frozen is the "it" movie. Liam LOVES it. I imagine it will be a hit for Halloween too although Liam is going to be cookie monster! .... fun times! !!!
