Dear Clark,
Today you are five months old! You are growing so much every day and are no longer a little
baby. You are chubby little peanut and I love your little leg rolls. The best part of this month has been
your interactions with Sloane. You
watch her all the time and she makes you so happy. She can make you laugh more than Daddy and I can. She says random words like “pancake” or sings songs and you laugh
nonstop. It is so sweet to see the
two of you playing together.
Sloane loves you so much and is such a big helper. She loves holding you (on the couch)
and you smile at her the entire time.
The last few weeks have been rough. You were sleeping so great at night,
waking up once around 3-4am for a quick feeding and going right to sleep until
6:30-7am. Now you wake up
screaming your head off around midnight.
I feed you, then you freak out more and scream and scream and scream. You wake up again around 3/4am, whining,
so I feed you again because I just want to go to sleep. I am so exhausted right now. You have not slept longer than 4 hours the last two
nights. I am really hoping this is
a quick phase or you are teething because I can’t take many more nights like
this. Thankfully you were a
wonderful baby during Christmas and barely whined at all even though you were
passed around to lots of different family members that you rarely see.
Another big change this month is your desire to sit up like
a big boy. You do not being on
your back. You whine nonstop until
Daddy or I holds you or props you up.
You cannot sit up on your own, so we have to hold your hips. You practice sitting in the bebe pod,
but it makes you spit up because your stomach is squashed. There are days that I change your
outfit four times because you spit up so much.
You still LOVE being outside. You are so happy when we are at the park. It is the only time that you are happy
on your back. We lay on a blanket
and stare at the trees while Sloane rides her bike or runs around with
friends. We are at the park nearly
every afternoon for at least an hour or more.
Bath time is still another favorite part of your day. You love being naked and grabbing your
feet. I started letting you hang
out naked for 15-20 minutes before the bath because it is the only time that
you play with your feet and attempt at rolling over. A few weeks ago, you rolled over twice from your belly
to your back. However, you have
not rolled over (back to tummy) the entire month! You did it for the first time the day you turned 4 months
old and have not done it again.
Time to roll around little dude!
I am going to start making you real food next week. Can’t wait to see how it goes. Hopefully you will get a big fat belly
and sleep through the night :)
Love you so much
Xoxo
Mommy
